Malaysian Sheet Glass Sdn Bhd officiated its back-to-school campaign through a program called “Shoes of Hope” to help 200 needy children to start their school session this year.
Hong Leong Asset Management (HLAM) has been donated to 2 orphanage homes, Pertubuhan Kebajikan Mesra Assalam and Rumah Kids in Selangor area. These 2 homes concludes 48 benefactries with complete Back to School set, consist 2 sets of uniform, 2 pairs of shoes and socks.
Today we went to Chin Enthnic Community Myanmese Refugee Khampat Christian Fellowship Ctr in Sg Long, Kajang area to give out Shoes donated by Abaro Shoes, school bags with stationary sponsored by a few kind friends, School art supplies and books plus some Goodie bags for the kids sponsored...
There is story behind how this donation happened. One of our team went to the island of Indonesia to travel and promised to return again because they found that the children were barefoot to school and felt that they could do something for the children.
Our CSR activities were initiated from a newspaper article reporting about how poor children in Laos walk barefoot or wear ill-fitting shoes to school. We believe that a new pair of shoes can be life-changing for kids in need.
